THE DESTRUCTORS

“The destructors” is a black humor short written by Graham Green, about a gang of middle age boys in London after Second World War, where the city is very damage thanks to the Germans attacked, using their air forces to “blitz” all the city of London.

The plot of this story is about a gang called “Wormsley Common Gang” who is led by a very intelligent and meticulous but at the same time evil boy named Trevor or “T” who want to destroy one of the only houses that remain and survived the attack in the WW2. The owner of this house is an old man called Mr. Thomas also called Old Misery, this house was build nearly 200 years ago, so it have a deep sentimental value.

Trevor plans to destroy the house with no reason only by saying that it’s beautiful this mean he have an evil brain with no other pleasure that destroying things. The plan starts when Mr. Thomas is in holidays out of town for a few days. The first step of this maligneous plan is to climb the wall and get inside the house and start destroying some main structures of the house to make it collapse. Mr. Thomas return from the trip earlier and a boy see him and run to give the notice to Trevor, but he doesn’t care and keep destroying the infrastructure, But Old Misery fall into a trick planed by Trevor and couldn’t stop them, making successfully the evil plan of Trevor.

I think this book have a very good plot and is very focus and its main idea who is the pleasure of destroying things. Also Graham Green wants to use comedy and try to make the misfortunes funny.
Maybe the attitude of these boys of destroying things is expressed because they have seen a lot of violence and a lot of destruction and they have grown in this environment, so they have been influenced with this anger and rancor and jealous.

The destructors is a short story of Graham Green, about a gang in London after Second World War, that want to destroy an old man’s house that is in holidays, they plan very deep how to destroy it with out being catch. The evil brain is a man called “T”. When this hang finally are going to destroy the house, the old man arrive his home and catch them.

“T” that is the boss of the gang, only want the satisfaction of destroying things, he don’t have other visions or intensions of stealing things from houses or people, like the other guys in this gang. That’s why he is the leader, he have very clear his intensions that are evil.

The Worl War I (WWI), or also called as First World War was a military conflict between 2 alliances: The Central Powers (German Empire, Austro-Hungarian Empire, Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Bulgaria) and the Entente Empire (Russian Empire, France, British Empire, Italy, Empire of Japan and the United States. This war start the 28 June 1914 and cease fire the 11 November 1918, and a peace treaty signed 28 June 1919.

The location of this war was in Africa, Europe and the Middle East mainly in China and in the Pacific Islands. The type of combat in this war was mainly in trenches. The defincion of a trench is a warfare where both combatants digg a very big hole and fortified position and fighting lines and static.

Goodfellas Film Review

If there was a reason of being scared in the streets, it’s “Goodfellas”.
This is another Martin Scorsese Mafia masterpiece based on a true story, interpreted with some of the best actors in history, such as Robert De Niro with the role of James “Jimmy” Conway”, Joe Pesci and the polemical actor Ray Liotta with the main role of Henry Hill an Irish young person that with the time he gets involved in the Mafia.
Through the movie Henry Hill turns of his life a hell for being involved in drugs, sex and violence.

In my opinion this was an excellent film with excellent actors and excellent scripts, but it outstand Joe Pesci (Tommy DeVito) playing a crazy lunatic gangster that his evil actions send him to the death.
